Induction Program – Day 4
The fourth day of Induction Program was meant to give insights about the various pedagogical tools and a glimpse of the cross cultural environment that is awaiting the students.
SESSION 1
The first session draw the attention of students about the retail market structure existing in India.
Mr. C G Venkataraman (Unit Head of Shoppers Stop) shared about the various strategies followed in the retail markets .He introduced the retail market functioning and the channels of distribution to the students. A quiz to identify the brand ambassadors was played to improve the brand awareness level of students.
SESSION 2&3
This session was an introduction to cross culture management by Prof Chitra Mukundan. She gave a glimpse of various cultural practices existing in various countries.
She explained how cultural differences have an impact in the work places and the need for understanding cultural diversity in workplace. Many games were also played to have an understanding of crossing the cultural barriers.
SESSION 4
Students were introduced to Case Study analysis, a major pedagogical tool followed in ITM by Prof Bala Praveena.
The
basics of understanding a case and analyzing it was taught to the students.
Steps involved in case study analysis was explained to them. Students were
split in to teams and were given a case to understand and analyze.
